Year 3 Times Tables Sessions

The following videos were filmed with a Year 3 class towards the start of the spring term and focus on times tables.

In this short video, the skip counting slide for the 3 times tables is used to rehearse counting up and down in multiples of 3 from 0 to 36.

Here, some tricky multiples of 3 have been identified and the children rehearse these by ‘boomeranging’ forwards and backwards!

Opportunities to explore and discuss area models for multiples of 3 are the focus of this clip. Can the children spot the imposter multiple?

In this video, the game ‘Spot the swap’ is used to support recall of multiples of 3.

Here, the skip counting slide for the 4 times tables is used to rehearse counting up and down in multiples of 4 from 0 to 48.

The focus of this video is using the number line and useful benchmarks to derive unknown, or missing, multiples of 4.
