About this course

As we near the end of the academic year, these in-person moderation clusters offer Year 2 teachers the chance to discuss their evidence of children's attainment and review their assessments of standards with colleagues from other schools. This will include their assessments of reading, writng and maths and will include discussion of how optional KS1 tests have been used to inform the teacher assessment judgements. In each subject area, teachers are encouraged to bring evidence from at least three children, including two working around the WTS/EXS boundary and one who is either a strong EXS or working at Greater Depth. Further information will be shared with delegates ahead of the session to support preparation. Sessions will take place in Stevenage and Hemel Hempstead, allowing schools to choose the most suitable location. Discounts are available for schools sending more than one teacher.

  • explore standardisation materials to ensure consistency in application of expectations

  • explore pupils’ work in reading, writing and maths and discuss assessment judgements

  • share and analyse evidence with colleagues in other schools to build consistency
