About this course

This one-day, in-person refresher course is designed for Therapeutic Thinking Tutors working in special school settings. It reinforces key principles of restraint reduction and elimination, while ensuring tutors remain up to date and certified to deliver Therapeutic Thinking training within their own settings. Annual attendance is required to maintain active tutor status. Each setting is expected to send a minimum of two delegates.

  • Maintain their status as certified Therapeutic Thinking Tutors.

  • Refresh and deepen their understanding of restraint reduction and therapeutic approaches.

  • Continue delivering Therapeutic Thinking training and consultancy within their setting.

  • Strengthen inclusive practices for supporting pupils with SEND and those who may present with challenging behaviour.

  • Collaborate as part of a tutor team to sustain and evolve therapeutic practice across the school.
