About this course

These termly briefings offer a supportive space for schools seeking guidance on race equity, anti‑racism and wider EDI issues but who may not be able to join the extended CPD programme. They respond to the increasing challenges schools face around racism, religion, identity and community tension, areas that can be difficult to navigate due to time pressures or fear of getting things wrong. Sessions are practical, current and responsive, helping leaders stay informed and confident in their decision‑making. While the core focus is anti‑racism, the briefings also place this work within a wider EDI and belonging context, acknowledging how different forms of exclusion intersect across school communities. The sessions do not replicate paid CPD content but provide high‑level updates, reflection and signposting. They offer timely support, enabling schools to share challenges, learn from one another and stay connected without committing to a longer programme.

  • increase awareness of key developments affecting race equity, anti‑racism and EDI work

  • build confidence in responding to racism‑related issues raised by school communities

  • understand how emerging issues may influence pupil experience, behaviour and relationships

  • learn from shared challenges and examples of practice offered by other schools

  • know where to access relevant tools, guidance and training, including wider CPD options
