About this course

Reading fluency instruction is a vital focus across education. This training takes a close look at how reading fluency instruction and development of disciplinary literacy can enhance learning across the curriculum. We will help you integrate research-based approaches, transforming both curriculum and pedagogy. Since much of curriculum learning relies on reading, our experienced Reading Fluency Project specialists will guide you through simple-to-implement, high-impact pedagogy and strategies that support pupils across all subjects, regardless of their starting points. This course offers a comprehensive approach to teaching reading fluency across the curriculum. You’ll learn how to make use of the most effective strategies from HFL Education’s Reading Fluency Project and artfully embed them into subjects from science to music, geography to history. By the end, you’ll be equipped with practical techniques to enhance disciplinary literacy, helping pupils develop subject-specific reading skills and deepen their learning not just in reading, but right across the curriculum. Join us on the journey to create a classroom where reading fluency becomes the key to unlocking learning in every subject.

  • explore practical approaches to assessment and teaching of reading fluency across the curriculum
