This module explores how staff can embed wellbeing‑promoting practices across everyday routines, relationships and the curriculum. Drawing on OAP expectations, it focuses on creating calm, predictable and psychologically safe environments that support belonging, emotional literacy and active engagement.
The session builds staff confidence in recognising universal needs and understanding when OAP strategies are sufficient or when further review may be required. It also examines how movement breaks, calm spaces and everyday regulation techniques can be used within Ordinarily Available Provision, and how PSHE, RSHE and wider personal development opportunities can strengthen resilience and emotional literacy.
This is module 1 of five fully funded 90 minute online sessions designed to enhance inclusive practice and improve the quality of OAP across Hertfordshire schools. Each module is delivered live, with the option to revisit recorded content, and is suitable for all phases, supporting confident, inclusive learning environments..
understand how to create calm, purposeful environments that support learner safety
strengthen knowledge of universal emotional needs including anxiety and low mood
