About this course

This module supports staff to build strong, early partnerships with parents and children through clear, supportive and non defensive conversations. It focuses on helping practitioners develop confidence in using person centred tools that strengthen shared understanding of a child’s needs, the strategies in place and the outcomes being worked towards.

The session explores ways to meaningfully gather pupil voice and involve children and young people in planning, ensuring they feel heard and understood. It also highlights how open communication, joint problem solving and clarity around approaches can build trust, promote shared ownership and support collaborative decision making at an early stage. The training aligns with OAP expectations around effective communication and valuing pupil and family voice in the planning process.

This is module 4 of five fully funded 90 minute online sessions designed to enhance inclusive practice and improve the quality of OAP across Hertfordshire schools. Each module is delivered live, with the option to revisit recorded content, and is suitable for all phases, supporting confident, inclusive learning environments.
