About this course
This training strengthens subject knowledge and teaching skills needed to build firm foundations for writing across KS2. It supports accurate sentence demarcation and a consistent whole school approach, using practical strategies grounded in research informed principles.
By addressing common weaknesses in sentence structure and punctuation, teachers can accelerate progress and build pupils’ confidence in writing. The course aligns with the DfE Writing Framework and supports a clear approach from Y1–Y6. Video examples illustrate effective classroom practice, and participants receive a two week unit plan using proven techniques to improve sentence structure.
The three part training includes an eLearning module focused on expectations and progression, a live webinar exploring key barriers and classroom strategies, and a follow up session focused on impact, reflection and next steps. Participants leave with practical, high impact approaches they can use immediately to strengthen writing outcomes across their school.
