This training supports teachers to agree secure summative assessment judgements for the EYFS Profile using the two attainment bands: emerging and expected. Participants will take part in a joint agreement trialling task alongside colleagues and Early Years Advisers, with a focus on selected areas of learning informed by EYFS Profile outcomes (2026). Delegates will engage in professional discussion and moderation with teachers from a range of schools, helping to develop shared understanding and consistency in practice. The session will strengthen cohort-based moderation processes and support practitioners to make accurate, evidence-informed decisions. It will also build confidence in applying ‘best fit’ judgements against the Early Learning Goals (ELGs), ensuring assessments are secure, consistent and aligned with national expectations.
Delegates are encouraged to bring examples of writing, where available, to support discussion, alongside their professional knowledge of the cohort.
