About this course

This three-part course, spread across the academic year, is aimed at inspiring and developing teachers newer to science subject leadership or looking to develop their leadership of science. Delegates will gain an in-depth understanding of the role of science leader and develop the skills and knowledge to lead with confidence. The science curriculum will be unpicked to explore sequencing and progression in both subject knowledge and the skills of working scientifically. A range of effective teaching, learning and assessment strategies will be showcased to enable subject leaders to deepen their subject-specific knowledge, pedagogy and understanding. We will also explore how best to monitor science across the curriculum and support colleagues. The first session is half a day in person. The second and third sessions are online 90-minute webinars. Delegates attend all three parts.
