About this course

This workshop provides schools with practical guidance to support effective budget setting for 2027/2028 and forward planning for 2028/2029 and 2029/2030. The morning session offers an update on any changes to the Access Budgeting software and a step by step walkthrough of the budget planning process within the system. It will also highlight the key areas schools need to consider when developing their budget and reviewing future forecasts, alongside an overview of the latest budget updates from HCC. During the afternoon, Financial Services staff will be available digitally to respond to queries and offer support with entering budget plans into the Access Budgeting software.

  • begin developing their draft budget with guidance in a supported environment

  • produce a full set of budget reports using the Access Budgeting software

  • explore ‘what if’ budget scenarios to support financial planning decisions
