About this course

This course provides essential knowledge for the effective management of asbestos in schools. It offers practical guidance on safely managing asbestos that remains in school buildings, along with an understanding of required documentation. On completion, attendees will be equipped to undertake the role of an asbestos authorising officer. Content includes: Locations, and types of asbestos-containing materials commonly found in schools HSE and DfE expectations, alongside HCC policy and guidance Understanding asbestos management surveys and how to interpret survey data Role and importance of asbestos management plans Permission-to-work processes Visual inspections Incident management and response Important booking information: Training is delivered by Hertfordshire County Council and is subject to different booking conditions to Herts for Learning. Cancellations within four weeks of the course date, or non attendance, will be charged at the full rate unless a replacement delegate is found.
