About this course

This three-day course is designed for Headteachers and key staff committed to embedding a therapeutic approach to behaviour across their school or service. Participants will be trained as Therapeutic Thinking Tutors, equipping them to deliver in-house training and support inclusive, consistent, and safe behaviour practices. The course includes one in-person and two online days, all of which must be attended to achieve certification. Each setting is expected to train a minimum of two staff members. This training enables delegates to become Therapeutic Thinking Relational Practice Tutors, supporting behaviour through training and consultancy. It explores the feelings and experiences behind behaviour, including attachment, ACEs, trauma, and links to mental health and SEND, and introduces tools to strengthen behaviour policy, planning, and practice.

  • deliver Therapeutic Thinking training and support within their own setting

  • support the development of inclusive policies and practices

  • promote staff confidence and safety in managing behaviour and supporting SEND pupils

  • reduce the risk of exclusion through consistent, therapeutic strategies

  • collaborate as a team to sustain and evolve therapeutic practice across the setting
