About this course
This event is delivered by HFL in collaboration with our legal partners Forbes Solicitors. Schools will be charged £75 excluding VAT per booking.
During this half day event you will witness an employment tribunal in action. See how an employee who has been dismissed takes their case to tribunal and the arguments made by each party. Delegates will also observe how questions are asked, processes that were undertaken are disputed and challenges are raised.
Our mock employment tribunal will be conducted by our HR professionals and our legal partners. Delegates will have the opportunity to participate, interact and ask questions in order to fully understand the process.
This event follows a mock disciplinary hearing in the spring term. The mock tribunal will follow the same case as the mock disciplinary giving the opportunity to see how decisions made at an internal hearing can be reviewed at tribunal.
This session is aimed at school and trust leaders, governors, trustees and HR professionals who may find themselves being involved in disciplinary hearings.
Learning outcomes
By attending the session, participants will:- gain a greater understanding of the disciplinary hearing and employment tribunal process
- witness a hearing and tribunal in action without being part of the proceedings
- see the different roles involved and the part each plays in the hearing
- understand the role you may have to undertake in your setting
- understand how the actions taken during an internal process can be scrutinised at a higher level
