About this Course:
This session will provide Year 2 teachers with the opportunity to explore standards and expectations in writing, and to work together with colleagues, analysing where their pupils are currently attaining and identifying gaps and next steps.
Although no longer statutory, we will be using the Key Stage 1 Teacher Assessment Framework (TAF) as the basis for assessment.
We recommend that teachers bring evidence of writing for at least 2 pupils from their class – typically, one who has been assessed as achieving the Expected Standard for KS1, and one who has been assessed as achieving Greater Depth. Teachers may also find it beneficial to bring the writing of any pupils whom they have found difficult to assess for any reason.

Learning Outcomes:
- increased confidence in understanding standards and expectations at end of Key Stage 1;
- clear understanding of their own pupils’ current attainment and areas to focus on in teaching.
