Single Central Record training

About this course

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people is one of the most important aspects of schools' work. One element of this is to carry out and record robust recruitment checks. Ofsted inspectors scrutinise the school's Single Central Record (SCR) during inspections. They are likely to be interested both in whether it is compliant with the requirements outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education, and in the school's culture and approach to maintaining it.

Changing requirements over time often lead to questions about how best to maintain the SCR, and about compliance and best practice.

This half-day webinar will remind delegates of the importance of meeting the statutory requirements. It will allow delegates to explore what constitutes an effective SCR.

The session is for anyone with responsibility for establishing, updating or maintaining the school's SCR. The training will comprise presentation, discussion and practical activity.
