A beginner’s guide to generative AI in education - eLearning

About this course

There is no escape from the news stories and online posts about Artificial Intelligence and the impact it is likely to have on all our lives. Whether schools, settings and trusts are yet embracing AI wholeheartedly or not, it is important to know a little about what it is and how it can be used in education.

For teachers and other school/setting staff wondering what it is all about, this non-technical, short course will introduce Artificial Intelligence with a focus on 'Generative AI'. Once delegates have attended the course, they will have considered the benefits and concerns of AI in schools, and they will have learned how to start using particular free generative AI tools for beneficial educational purposes.

During the course, delegates will watch video demonstrations of a number of uses of these tools, so participants can explore them themselves.

The course also covers potential student use of AI and raises awareness of the considerations, concerns and risks that AI poses in education. Delegates will leave with some practical actions to discuss further in their school, setting or trust.
