Nationally, 25% of pupils leave Year 6 having not achieved the expected standard for writing. Prepare your Year 6 students for writing success with our comprehensive course focused on raising standards in writing. Designed specifically for educators working with Year 6 students, this course provides practical strategies, resources, and insights to empower teachers in nurturing proficient and confident young writers.

This session will consider how best to support ALL learners to achieve the expected standard for writing, as well as ideas for developing pupils as confident, mature writers at the greater depth standard. Our experienced Year 6 specialists will guide you through teaching and learning that will support your young writers to meet the demands of the assessment framework without sacrificing the joy of writing.

Much of the learning throughout the course will explore strategies and activities designed to nurture authentic, purposeful writing opportunities for all pupils. We will consider how to support pupils to enhance and refine their ideas, language and writerly techniques. We will also share high quality texts, explore the integration of grammar and vocabulary for effect, and look at models for planning to support current practice.
