Developing learning environments in your setting

About this course

Children are unique and holistic learners, thriving within well-planned environments that support their individuality, diverse experiences, interests and needs. A well-thought out learning environment is key to effective pedagogy.

Children learn a huge amount through play, it is after all the centre of their wellbeing. Did you know you can actually measure the quality of your environment by observing the play taking place?

We know that children’s learning is best supported when they have opportunities which allow for movement and action, creativity and imagination, independence and collaboration.

This course will explore the impact the environment has on children’s learning and development in the early years. There will be an opportunity to discuss any challenges you may be facing in your environment, along with the chance to hear from other settings and view inspirational environment set ups.
