About this course

This course is designed to provide an understanding of the key risks and controls for working at height within schools.

With practical advice on safe use and risk assessments for work at height activities. 

Content includes:  

• regulations and expectation for working at height

• risk assessments for working at heights

• inspection of ladders/stepladders

• selection of correct type of access equipment 

• safe use of ladders/stepladders

• considerations when accessing the sites low roof/s.

Please note this training is run by Hertfordshire County Council and has differing booking conditions from the Herts for Learning terms and conditions: bookings cancelled within four weeks of the course date will be charged at full price (unless a replacement is found) - bookings will be charged at full rate for non-attendees.

Learning Outcomes

By attending the course, participants will: 

• understand the legal requirement and hazards of working at height

• be aware of expectations and key controls when working at height

• be able to conduct Ladder / stepladder inspection

• be aware of task specific and model risk assessments available to aid in undertaking work at height risk assessments
