Year 6 Autumn 2024 writing moderation cluster: online

About this Course:

This online cluster will provide Year 6 teachers with the opportunity to hear key messages arising from the external moderations that took place in the summer, to explore standards and expectations in writing, and to work together with colleagues, analysing where their pupils are currently attaining and identifying gaps and next steps.

We recommend that teachers bring evidence of writing for 2 pupils from their class – typically, one who is targeted to achieve the Expected Standard at the end of KS2, and one who is targeted to be Working at Greater Depth.

Please note, we are also offering in-person clusters for Year 6 teachers at venues around the county.

Learning Outcomes:

• Increased confidence in understanding standards and expectations at end of Key Stage 2;
• Clear understanding of their own pupils’ current attainment and areas to focus on in teaching.
