About this course

Learn how to use SIMS efficiently and effectively to record and maintain accurate statutory pupil attendance records. Use the integrated reports and routines to correspond with parents and analyse attendance trends and patterns to improve school attendance and ensure returns to the DfE run smoothly.

Training Objectives

• be able to enter registration marks
• be able to deal with missing marks and unexplained absences, and be able to enter school closures through the school diary
• learn how to manage part-time pupils
• be able to produce letters to parents, chasing unauthorised absences or late arrivals
• know how to print official registers and create reports for senior leaders, governors and attendance improvement officers
