Progression in science: living things

About this course

We will explore how the learning about plants, animals and living things builds cumulatively through the primary science curriculum to provide pupils with a deep and connected understanding of the natural world.

The course will begin by considering progression in these three areas focusing on the most important knowledge and understanding for pupils to develop. We will explore effective teaching strategies for teaching this content focusing on guidance in the National Curriculum, the Ofsted science subject report and the EEF improving primary science guidance. A range of free resources that can be used to provide awe and wonder and support teaching and learning will be shared.

Examples of pupil outcome will be reviewed so that schools can consider how this might look within their own setting.

This course is ideal for primary science subject leaders and senior/curriculum leaders.

It costs £59 per delegate
