Effective formative assessment strategies lie at the heart of ensuring that our teaching is responsive to the needs of all our learners, which is a crucial element of quality teaching and learning across the whole curriculum.

A responsive classroom ensures that gaps are identified and addressed as part of everyday classroom practice, which is key for addressing the attainment gap caused by disadvantage or for those pupils with SEND.
