About this course
This course provides Year 6 teachers, Key Stage 2 leaders and primary English leaders the opportunity to receive exactly the same training that external moderators undertake. This will ensure that delegates hear the same messages and study the same examples of writing at different standards, provided by the Standards & Testing Agency – thereby securing their own understanding of the requirements and building confidence in secure teacher assessment. As part of the course, delegates will also be given the opportunity to put their assessment skills to the test, by taking the same standardisation exercise that moderators are required to pass. Key materials will be shared electronically with delegates in advance of the course and during the day itself there will be opportunities for discussion, via live webinar and breakout rooms. This course complements the training course ‘Year 6 Assessment Essentials: focus on statutory requirements, standards & SATs’, which runs in the Autumn term.
