The Big Staff Meeting Series 2025-26 - Computing
- Computing: Progression in the strand of information technology, focusing on creating media
This staff meeting explores the Information Technology (IT) strand in primary computing, focusing on creating media to develop pupils’ creativity, communication, and digital skills.
The course will focus on why creating media is an important element of the curriculum. We will examine the various types of media that pupils might create as they progress through primary school and introduce a range of free resources that can be used to facilitate media creation in the classroom.
Participants will gain insights into how children develop their skills in creating media and how to plan for progression in this area. By the end of this staff meeting, teachers will have a good understanding of why we teach digital media, and how pupils 'get better at' producing digital media.
