The Big Staff Meeting Series 2025-26 - Assessment

- Applying the principles of responsive teaching across the curriculum

Effective formative assessment strategies, enabling teachers to explore children’s understanding in the moment and adapt their teaching accordingly, are essential skills when it comes to teachers meeting learners’ needs. Responsive and adaptive teaching also continues to be a key element of the Ofsted judgement about Quality of Education.

This session will explore a range of classroom practices, including approaches to questioning and feedback, and discuss how and when they would best be utilised.
