About this course
Effective monitoring of your RSHE provision is vital and a statutory requirement in ensuring your PSHE curriculum is fit for purpose and appropriate for your school and the pupils’ needs. This course will give you the knowledge and confidence to ensure that you are meeting the DfE’s statutory requirements for RSHE. This includes targeted support for those implementing policy, developing curriculum, adapting, and monitoring RSHE provision within their settings.
Learning outcomes
- develop a clear understanding of the statutory guidance for RSHE within your setting, including any relevant updates to the DfE guidance.
- gain knowledge to develop and review your statutory RSE policy, inclusive of the right to be excused from sex education guidance (commonly referred to as ‘right to withdraw’)
- gain confidence to tailor the curriculum, to ensure it is age and stage appropriate and fit for your wider community needs
- gain skills as a leader to effectively monitor and assess your provision to enable high-quality provision in the delivery of all mandatory areas of the RSHE curriculum
- develop knowledge of PSHE’s role in the Personal Development section of the Ofsted framework
- secure signposts to support and additional resources
