Year 1-6 ESSENTIALmaths collaborative planning workshops 2024/25 (Croxley Green)

About this Course:

Choose one of four venues across Hertfordshire and join the authors of ESSENTIALmaths for 3 half-day sessions (one per term) in our collaborative planning workshop series. These sessions will provide continued professional development and build across the year to enable you to tailor your planning for your pupils through peer discussion and expert guidance.

By attending these sessions, you will further develop your practice in:
• planning small step progression through learning;
• CPA - teacher modelling and pupil exploration;
• developing pupil talk and recording;
• purposeful questioning to check and deepen understanding;
• developing fluency in number facts and mathematical reasoning;
• designing rehearsal and practice;
• flexible guided teaching informed by AfL;
• opportunities for deeper thinking for all pupils;
• purposeful gaming;
• use of a working wall.

Learning Outcomes:

You will be able to:
• use planning to identify teaching and rehearsal that will meet the needs of your class;
• unpick and illustrate the concepts that need to be understood.

Additional Information:

During each workshop, you will unpick and personalise an ESSENTIALmaths learning sequence and create a plan ready to use in your classroom.

*All three sessions will take place at Harvey Road Primary School, Croxley Green*
