About this course
This 2-hour webinar will support computing subject leaders with ensuring that their curriculum is well-sequenced and meets the needs of the school’s context.
Focusing on how to lead computing across a primary school, we will also consider how to weave digital literacy and safe use of technology into the curriculum. We will work with subject leaders to unpick terms like ‘algorithm’ and explore what progression in the area of ‘programming’ might look like.
As well as being a forum for discussion, sharing good practice and exploring curriculum design approaches, we will also cover key documents such as the recently published Ofsted research review into computing.
Delegates will be able to use the content to support teachers within their own school. For delegates who are not able to attend the live webinar, a recording will be available shortly afterwards, along with the supporting materials.
The 2-hour webinar is £59 per delegate.
Learning outcomes
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- consider how children’s learning of computing develops and how to support this development
- explore what might be included within computing curriculum mapping to ensure that there is logical progression in learning across the school
- ensure that the curriculum meets the needs of your school community.
- consider tools and models for assessment, so that we can identify what children know and can do, during and after the learning has taken place.
Additional information
Computing subject leaders will find it helpful to have their curriculum mapping to hand during the webinar.
