Financial services: new to school finance
About this course
This course is aimed at delegates new to schools/settings, new to Hertfordshire or new to finance. This two-session course (delivered over two different days) will provide you with the key information that you need to effectively understand and oversee the finances in your school/setting.
Session one will focus on:
- bank account(s)/schedule of financial delegation
- funding
- purchases
- salary costs
- financial transactions including Consistent Financial Reporting
Session two will focus on:
- key principles of budgeting
- changes in schools/settings that will impact the finances
- purpose of budget monitoring and medium-term financial planning
- financial calendar for a Hertfordshire maintained school
