Our brand new EYFS e-learning induction programme includes 4 modules of self-paced e-learning. Each module allows you to explore your role in greater detail supporting your practice along the way with reflective tasks. Using a wide range of engaging learning styles, participants can learn at their own pace in a way that suits them best.

Module 1: Understanding and working with the EYFS Statutory Framework
- Introduces the Statutory framework
- Understand the learning and development requirements
- Gain an overview of assessment requirements
- Become familiar with the safeguarding and welfare requirements
Module 2: Understanding child development
- Gain an understanding of child development
- Explore the stages of play
- Increase awareness of the adult role in responding to children’s developmental needs
- Become aware of recognised non-statutory guidance that can be used to support professional judgements
Module 3: Teaching and Learning in the early years
- Gain confidence in responding appropriately to day to day observations
- Understand how to assess children’s learning and make decisions about what a child needs to learn and be able to do next
- Understand effective methods of teaching early years children
Module 4: Supporting literacy and maths in everyday practice
- What literacy and maths looks like as part of an early years curriculum
- Explore your role in providing teaching opportunities to support children’s understanding of literacy and maths
- Practical ideas for embedding literacy and maths into the rhythms and routines of the day
Each module contains a “Learning into Practice” activity, designed to support you apply the learning within your setting. There is also a printable “Reflective Journal” to guide your note-taking and reflections while working through the content.
