ESSENTIALWRITING in Reception: A webinar for EYFS practitioners

About this course

This online training session will fully support new schools to utilise the new Early Years ESSENTIALWRITING planning for the 25/26 academic year.  The training pertains to reception plans.  The webinar will equip teachers and practitioners with a thorough understanding of how to use the plans and resources to fully support all pupils.  The session will be recorded and available via the Hub dashboard for the duration of the 25/26 academic year to rewatch and share key messages.

Learning outcomes

• develop a comprehensive understanding of the rationale and pedagogy underpinning ESSENTIALWRITING in the Early Years
• examine the alignment between ESSENTIALWRITING in the Early Years and Key Stage 1
• gain insights into the assessment of writing at the end of the Reception year 
• experience a ‘walk-through’ of some of the plans to see how targeted teaching and support can empower all children to become writers
• learn how to access this unique set of resources for effective implementation in your Early Years setting(s)
