About this course
Join us as a teaching team to explore bar modelling within ESSENTIALMATHS.
Learning outcomes
- Consider why bar modelling is an important part of maths learning for all pupils
- Explore how bar modelling progresses within ESSENTIALMATHS
- How bar modelling supports -conceptual understanding and linking learning together through consistent models (ie. multiplication, division and fractions all share similar models) -decoding word (or story) problems, including multi-step problems -building confidence and reasoning

There will be time provided at the end for a short Q&A session with the ESSENTIALMATHS team
The session will be recorded and will remain accessible until September 30th 2026 to enable new staff to get up and running
