About this course
Schools have for many years provided alternative provision for individual students. In most cases a particular student is withdrawn from normal lessons to attend the alternative activity at specified periods and for a specified date range.
Nova-T6 contains functionality that enables the alternative activities to be defined, staffed, room, scheduled and exported to SIMS. SIMS contains the functionality to enable the students to be placed in the activities, registers taken and marksheets created.
The alternative curriculum functionality is described in this video. The purpose of including an overview of the Nova-T6 functionality in the maintaining the timetable package is that it falls firmly within the remit of someone who maintains the timetable. Whereas most of the timetable is written before the start of the term in September, alternative activities tend to be added (modified) throughout the academic year as needs arise.
