Primary Geography: Progression in disciplinary Learning and fieldwork

About this course:

What is disciplinary learning in geography? This course starts with an exploration of disciplinary learning in primary geography and a discussion of recent Ofsted publication recommendations.

We will explore how progress can be made in geographical skills across the primary school, helping pupils learn the procedural knowledge they need to undertake real life fieldwork. We will discuss what it means for pupils to ‘think like a geographer’. We will discuss how a curriculum can be sequenced effectively to foster progression in disciplinary geography and share examples of where this has been successful, so that schools can consider how this might look within their own setting.

We will explore and share ideas for effective fieldwork in the school grounds and local area and exemplify how this can be planned for to foster progression.

The 2-hour webinar is £59 per delegate.
