The Big Staff Meeting Series 2025-26 - Design and Technology
- How do children ‘get better at’ evaluating and designing products?
Join us for an engaging staff meeting focused on teaching Design and Technology effectively. We will delve into how children can be supported to improve their skills critiquing existing products, often before designing and evaluating their own products. These areas of critiquing, designing and evaluating in D&T are critical to develop alongside the other strands for example structures and mechanisms, cooking and nutrition.
This session will focus on using design criteria to guide the creation of products and then evaluating these products against the set criteria. Staff will gain insights and strategies to help pupils become more proficient and confident designers.
